Ellie Schmidly Jones
Hello, and thank you for your attention to my portfolio! My expertise ranges from food and prop styling, to music production and performance, to recipe development. I genuinely enjoy the creative process, from idea conception to executing a final product. Let’s work together!
Music
Over the past few years, I’ve had the honor of writing, recording, and producing original music that has garnered over 8 million+ streams across multiple platforms. My music has been featured or used by the NFL, Jimmy Choo, Netflix’s Selling Sunset, and ABC’s Live with Kelly & Mark.
Tender
Tender holds a deeply personal place in my heart. To bring its music video to life, I undertook the task of sorting, scanning, and meticulously organizing a vast collection of footage captured by my late grandfather over his lifetime. Working closely with editor Logan Triplett, we uncovered a narrative within the footage that beautifully complemented the essence of the song.
Air Jordan
As an independent musician, I've embraced the opportunity to explore creative visions across multiple platforms. Beyond honing my musical production skills, I've delved into art and video production to enhance storytelling through accompanying visuals. One recent project was creating a music video for a song that I wrote, "Air Jordan" This project allowed me to be deeply involved in prop styling, production logistics, and collaborate closely on storyboarding with director Janson Jones.
In 2020, what began as a Friday pop-up bakery at the restaurant I managed quickly blossomed into a thriving business known as Cake. Encouraged by my employer, I transitioned from front-of-house management to focus full-time on research and development, meticulously crafting and refining recipes. Soon, I curated a diverse menu available for online orders with just 24 hours' notice.
Every week, I efficiently fulfilled 20+ wholesale cake orders for various coffee shops and cafes, who showcased my cakes by-the-slice. Simultaneously, I custom-made 10-15 specialty cakes weekly, often catering to weddings and other special occasions.
Cake closed in 2022, and though it was short-lived, it is a project I feel most proud of. I was changed by owning and operating this business; from achieving significant milestones with friends’ help, to supportive repeat customers, and the overall generosity of Springfield, Missouri’s food community. Every early-morning flower forage and late-night dishwashing brought immense joy that I eagerly shared through Cake.
